Roses on Burgundy is a bauble that belongs to the new collection of Bombkarnia “Wyspiański Flowers”.
The inspiration for creating patterns in this collection is a polychrome designed and partly made by this eminent Polish artist in the late 1890s in the Franciscan church, which was being restored at that time.
The walls of the presbytery and the beginning of the nave were covered with floral motifs in pastel colors. It is dominated by flowers such as irises, lilies, marigolds, poppies, roses and snowdrops.
Wyspiański himself wrote about his work as follows: “[…] I will mention two main compositions for the Franciscans, and these are: a garden of complete happiness, where it is so pleasant, so nice, as peaceful as it never can and never was on earth …”
