Hen from Lowicz – a colorful rooster

One of the most famous collections of Bombkarnia is the one referring to regional embroidery. We want to present the heritage of Polish folk art in a new way, i.e. with hand-made ornaments.

The egg is inspired by the pattern from Łowicz. The first decorations of this type appeared in Łowicz at the beginning of the 20th century. They were made with the use of wool. Embroidery with silk threads and mouline threads made a real career, which looked very impressive on velvet. The most famous motif is roses.

Traditional Lowicz Easter egg on a chicken egg shell. The way of decorating Lowicz Easter eggs has remained unchanged for many generations: individual elements are cut out by hand from colored paper, following the pattern of Lowicz cutouts, and then glued onto the eggshells. Our collection includes a wide selection of patterns of famous Easter eggs from Łowicz, which are a colorful and original decoration of the Easter table.

In the cultural aspect of decorating Easter eggs, it is worth emphasizing that they feature stylized plant motifs: twigs, trees, flowers, animals. They all evoke meanings – trees of life, they also indicate the role of eggs in symbolic restoration of life after the winter phase of sleep.

The egg is a unique handicraft, no two Easter eggs are the same, because it is human work. For each order, an Easter egg will be sent with the most similar color and design.
