One of the most characteristic motifs for Podhale embroidery, i.e. the nineties, was introduced to the ornaments by Stanisław Witkiewicz, and we present it on a new material, because a glass corset, not a velvet one. According to tradition, the largest floral motif is visible on the back, while its smaller parts are symmetrically arranged at the front. The whole is made on a red background with a golden pattern of sequins and tiny balls. An additional decoration are golden beads partially covering the neckline. Hand-embroidered hearts and corsets have always been the pride of their owners, which is why they paid so much attention to decorating them by embroidering them with threads, sequins and beads in colorful patterns, often covering the entire surface of the heart-shaped jacket. We are trying to revive the tradition of these beautiful elements of folk costume in our collection of glass hearths, on the surfaces of which not only the characteristic shapes of this costume are carefully reproduced, but also types, colors and decoration techniques typical for individual regions of Poland.
