The ornament refers to a beautiful fairy tale entitled Hansel and Gretel. The fairy tale tells the story of two children who, left in the forest by their stepmother, met an evil witch. It was written and published in 1812 by the Brothers Grimm. The ball was created by Polish artists.
An intricately made glass, hand-blown bauble shows the figure of a baby yaga flying on a broom. A black cat is sitting on her shoulder, pressed against her hat. A hand-decorated bauble decorated with colorful brocade has an unusual style, characteristic of a whole series of baubles referring to the fairy tale about Hansel and Gretel.
