Kashubian Grey

One of Bombkarnia’s most famous collections is the one referring to regional embroidery. We want to present the heritage of Polish folk art in a new way, i.e. on glass baubles.

The egg is inspired by the Kashubian pattern. Kashubian embroidery was created in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The most common palmette motifs, fruit, pomegranate flowers, tulips, daisies, or small elements: bees, clovers, small flowers. The colors were modeled on the traditional Kashubian furniture. They were mostly blue, green, and small red, yellow and black accents. Over time, several Kashubian embroidery schools emerged, the most popular of which are Wdzydze, Żukowska, Pucka, Wejherowska, and Tuchola.

A glass, hand-painted, gray egg with a minimalist, silvery Kashubian motif. Matt, discreetly decorated with folk patterns, beautifully blend in with furniture and objects in the Scandinavian and modern style.
