Lowicz paper cut-outs are a flagship example of Polish folk art. They appeared at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, serving as decorations for peasant cottages. They are hand-made with sheep shearers. They usually depict symmetrical floral and geometrical motives, as well as genre scenes from the life of the Lowicz village.
